Hey Y'all,

If you are in the voting mood, please go over to the Independent Music Awards site and vote for my good friends Spring Creek Bluegrass Band's "High up in the Mountains" for Best Americana Song (nope, there was no bluegrass category). Be careful when you are voting because you have to make sure you highlight the correct amount of stars before you click your mouse--there's only one chance!

If you'd like to (re)familiarize yourself with Spring Creek you can check out their MySpace at www.myspace.com/springcreek, which they had to rebuild from scratch this week after their three year old profile was mysteriously deleted last Tuesday. If you're a MySpacer, please add 'em and tell your friends so they can build their site back up to its former glory!

Anyway, Spring Creek are the winners of both the 2007 Telluride and RockyGrass Festival Band Competitions, and you can take a gander at these good lookin' kids on page 12 of the October Bluegrass Unlimited! They were also mentioned on page 6 of the Sept/Oct Bluegrass Music Profiles (right underneath that pic of Earl Scruggs reading BMP). And they'll be featured in an upcoming "Bands to Watch" in Bluegrass Now!!
