Have you seen all the reports on 20/20 and local news about nail salons recently? Nail "salons" giving their patrons infections from dirty implements, using illegal products that harm the nail and internal systems, and cutting into the skin causing pain? Why do people still frequent these places -- just because they are inexpensive? Sad. I have been a LICENSED nail technician for the last 15 years -- since before these (usually unlicensed) little shops started popping up all over the place. I believe in providing my clients with services that are sanitary first and foremost, friendly, personal (I actually *talk* to my clients!), and beautiful (no thick chicklet nails here)! I continually update my education in the industry in order to provide current trends and services.
