Walking into this downtown restaurant, I almost turned around after seeing the prices on the menu posted by the door. But we were out to splurge, so why not? Our waiter was kind, helpful, and very professional and the restaurant smelled great. The atmosphere is artsy and warm. My husband and I were surprised by the inattention of the hostess, but once the drinks and food arrived, that was immaterial. I love indian food. The Mango Laasi was the first impression I had of the food at India House. It was Divine (with a capital 'D'). I told my husband, 'if this is any indication of the food here, this is going to be amazing". The food was not a disappointment. Even the flat bread on the tables before the meal and the sauces with it were exceptional. And everything after had me oohing and ahing. Really, words can not describe how pleased I was to have found this place. Every bite was a delight. There are a fair number of good indian restaurants in Denver. This one is worth the extra money you will spend. And since indian food is getting to be so pricey anyway, you might as well go for some you won't easily forget. - Telisa , posted 06/11/07 |
