Serious music, awful food
wow...wish I had checked this earlier! If you are into jazz, there are four clubs that offer jazz 7 nights a week. Sambuca's which you tried, Blue (which is more of a sleek martini bar, and is right up from Sambuca's), Dazzle (at 930 Lincoln, a short cab ride away, but the best club in town and a great bar, as well), or El Chapultapek (20th & Market-awful food, more of a dive, but with SERIOUS music that is often more funky than jazzy).
