Review:

Australian producer Autonomech's (Zeb Richardson) new EP, "Cryptic Witch Bliss," is high-grade creme with magical effects on the mind and body. I'd call it massive, darkish, tribal progressive tech-trance that is a perfect balance between "bouncy" and "crunchy." The production quality is top gun and the sound textures are sharp, but never too dry or mechanical... there is just enough atmosphere, melody, and funk to keep it warm and interesting. Is it psychedelic? Yeah, definitely. The first time I listened to it, I yanked my earbuds out twice - thinking there were UFO sounds coming through my walls or swooshing jet planes above The bass, melodies, stabs, drops, crunchy noises and treble tickles make for a very three-dimensional and satisfying experience.

The 24 minute listening experience ends far too soon, leaving me quite keen for an full-length .WAV digital "album" release from Autonomech!

Rating: Highly recommended (9/10).
